Third Culture Kids

Growing up in a culture that is different from the culture of your parents can lead to specific challenges. Third culture kids often feel at home in many different cultures, but at the same time have difficulty claiming ownership of a culture of their own. This can lead to challenges in forming identity, and lead to a sense of disconnect or even feeling alone. This experience is common to the children of missionaries, diplomats, and foreign workers, and can also be experienced by children who emigrated with their parents to another country.
